I just got around to seeingBridesmaids this weekend and it was a riot. The movie was the second of the day’s double-header – I sawHangover 2 first – and was unquestionably the funnier film. When the movie ended and the nearly all-female audience started pouring out of the theater, I had two thoughts; I better beat it to the the ladies’ room because this line is going to be bonkers and was Bridesmaidsa feminist flick?

I’ve started watching Ally McBeal all over again. Yep, remember David E. Kelley’s Fox series from 1997 about a young, female attorney with relationship issues up the wazoo who worked at a quirky law firm with her ex-love, his new wife, a unisex bathroom, and no shortage of dancing baby hallucinations? The show featured humorous and eccentric characters played by Calista Flockhart, Courtney Thorne Smith, Lisa Nicole Carson, Jane Krakowski, Portia de Rossi, Lucy Liu, Regina Hall, Greg Germann, Peter MacNicol, Robert Downey Jr., and Gil Bellows.

There’s a formula to “good” informercials and the key ingredient is to make otherwise capable human beings look like buffoons when they try to do ordinary tasks without this new, as-seen-on-TV product. Someone has gone through the trouble to put many of those ridiculous life fails into one video.

This has indeed been a Good Friday. The weather’s nice, work is chill, and one of the interns at work put me on to Second City’s hilarious Sassy Gay Friend videos. I know at least 10 guys who are THE Sassy Gay Friend. Homeboy is killing me with his scarf. Watch these videos and laugh a bit with me. Then go outside and enjoy the sunshine, you stupid bitch.

First off, shout out to Joe Torry for holding down Def Comedy Jam after Martin left. Martin was the GOAT host, for sure, but Joe Torry had me rolling with that “Damn, is he funny?” bit with the head dip at the end.

Man decides to represent himself in court, and has the genius idea to try and cause a mistrial by… FAKING A HEART ATTACK!
Unfortunately for him, the judge was already up on his tomfoolery/buffonery/crackheadishness and was not having it.

Lawry’s all in the crib when Byata survives the final two. So in retaliation, Chiba tells everybody that Byata been runnin her mouth callin Rece fat, Nicky2States is a wack name and Cherry stuck up.
