HCR: Down to the wire

Right now, congressional negotiations over the final details of the health care reform bill are going on behind closed doors — and Congressman Bart Stupak is still insisting that the final bill include his total ban on private health insurance coverage for abortion.

Yes, one man is holding health care reform hostage. His goal: dictating the kind of health insurance coverage tens of millions of women will receive under reform.  - Planned Parenthood Action Fund

I don’t know about you, but this just is not right. I don’t believe this is what the framers of the Constitution and our nation’s founders intended when they instituted checks and balances in Congress. Neither one man nor one agenda should be able to threaten a movement that would bring such a large benefit to millions of Americans. I know not everyone agrees about abortion, but it’s legal yall. If we are to have any integrity in this country and in our political processes, we cannot essentially declare abortion illegal by taking away access to the procedure – which is exactly what Stupak would do.

It’s time to do something NOW. It’s super easy. Use the link below to send a message to Congress. Let’s get health care reform passed ASAP so we can move on as a nation to other important issues.
